NEWBIE here

Post by bushido »

Hey all you fantastic FTO owners! Recently Ive joined the FTO owners group as I have just paid a hefty deposit on my sexy white FTO...hmm does that actually make me an owner? Well i think it does. Can't stop thinking about it, can't wait to get into a tunnel and rev it. But yeh first (from the second test drive) impressions of it are very good.

A few details on the car.

It is a 98 GP version R tiptronic in STUNNING condition. Box stock except for an aftermarket sound system. Friends said i might have paid too much for it but i didnt care. My first CAR!!! YEh guys just tell me what you think about it.

I do plan on getting some mods, so if any members in Sydney know good place for wheels and tyres( the jdm look, not the tacky chrome wheels) I would love to hear about it. Would prefer wheels from WORK, rays, enkei or advan, maybe even tenzo. AIr filters and a exhaust system would be good too. Loving the Apexi N1 systems, though they are quite dear.

Can't wait to hear from someone!!

Cheers.

Oh and im 19 btw, if that matters..

Sydney! around the Parramatta region.

Do you guys reckon $17500 is too much for a Version R? I mean it was dealer purchased, and i did get them to chuck in some free stuff? The cars done 49970km and yeh, reckon i paid too much?

About the Apexi exhaust, i reckon ill still keep on trying to find one, but any other places around the Sydney area that you know about which stock FTO exhaust systems?

Thanks!

Im totally smitten by it. It drives fantastic, the engine is in immaculate condition, the momo wheel looks new, the gearstick is new, door handles are fine. Its all good men. Oh and the crazy blue seats are in as new conditon. So unless the dealer spent money to fake the condition of the car, I reckon i got myself a pretty good deal. Have never seen a Version R on the road either, so i guess i got exclusivity!. Keep up you Mivec roars!

WTTC, so do you actually practice Bushido? Or you just a fan of Hiro Nakamura?

LOL then you wouldn't want to see what happen to one of the GPvR here  I do agree with you, no point getting a GPvR if you going to put the weight back on, its going to be slower then a GS.

I payed $17990 for a 99 version R earlier this year with 50000 kms. Got a good trade in price though. Unfortunately had nothing but problems so far, nothing to do with the model of car, the previous owner just didnt look after it. But yeh enjoy it man they're great fun to drive.
