Front Bar To mod the Bozz or...

Post by boarsai »

Hey guys, been musing getting rid of my Bozz Speed bar as much as I like it... I would prefer a slightly different bar. Not a major or drastic change, just something a little smoother. Have been pondering doing the DC cut out conversion from a standard front bar like the car used to have...

Anyway was talking with yang on MSN tonight when he suggested just modifying the current bar to save the hassle of importing a DC kit if I'm unable to source one locally...

Got me thinking and I did a quick photoshop of an easy-ish change to my existing bar... was wondering what you guys thought. Yes, that's a billet grill on the photoshopped one, I've had a boner for those ever since I saw it on Silverfish's photos ;D

Also note that the grill is sorta further toward the front of the car at the top... slopes down and in. This is mainly due to the way the bar seems to jut out from the top... thought it might look a bit different and not too bad with a mild slope... feel free to disagree though ;)

Anyway... Bozz mod? or DC cut out? Also if Bozz any suggestions for changes to the bar... not killing the side intakes entirely? etc?

Anyhoo with no more dribbling...

AFTER: removed side intakes, smoothed and curved the upper lip corners, sloping billet grill... that's about it really :P

Billet Grill looks hot... definitely put that on :) Not sure about removing the pods, i kinda like them... suits the side skirts, without them it looks kinda odd...

I'm inclined to agree with the pods... and yet I don't like them as they are. I prefer the DC mini hole things... it might need something down there, just not sure what... might play with the image some more over the weekend.

ha, I was just thinking that. Love the after even though I have a soft spot for the DC stuff, agreed I think your after bar with some smaller DC like holes would look great.

do it mate, looks sweet, but i agree with mr-charisma, keep the lower cut outs, but maybe modify them in some way, make them sort of shallower if you see what i mean?? :? ;)

Gotta say I love the mods...very smooth!! The billet insert puts a very distinctive/classy face on the car. I'd say go for it. I like it without the cut outs..I'd suggest possibly modifying the side skirts to suit.

No Bore.p, sorry. :( I've been busy writing a CV and job application for monday :? As such I was a bit of a douche and forgot to go pick it up! going to try to do so next weekend if I can.

As usual something will make it difficult... pickup at 12:30 and g/f has a concert to get to by 1:45 ...

Life!!!

Jakey hehe I'm not sure WTF I'm doing atm... just going to get bumper + DC kit and ponder options till new year or so. Need to talk with DMD but might leave that till after xmas have a few big expenses over xmas to deal with first

Edit:

As for modifying sideskirt to suit... might be onto something there. I'm also thinking the standard bar + DC kit + removing the DC holes might actually be easier then modifying my existing bar to above due to the shapes of the bare etc. Anyway more food for thought. ... gah but then I like how the current bar is flat across the top... hrmnph. Blend all 3 bits? ;) Yikes.
