Found nice bodykit but need advice

Post by xSlurpee »

Hey there everyone, im new to this forum and tried searching but didnt find the help i needed (soo .. sorry for being noob and posting up a new topic)

Well anyways i recently bought a 96 GPX (stock) and looking for a nice bodykit for it and found a decent one after reading the "ebay bodykit" thread.

and heres the link for the bodykit :
http://www.jdltuning.com/mitsubishi/fto ... dykit.html

On the site it states "full kit for pre facelift FTO's" .. however, my question is will this bodykit fit on a 96 GPX? i dont think my cars "pre face lift" since its a 96 model
but what do you guys think? can i get theses fitted on anyway? or do you recommend not modifying my FTO YET as i got like 11 months till my red P's lol.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Cheers ^__^

Yours most probably is pre-facelift. Pre-facelift FTO's have an oval indicator/foglight combination light in the front and post-facelift FTO's have two separate round ones. Post Facelift FTO's started production in 97, so most likely, the bar will fit your car, but as stated above, postage will be nasty. I think one other member on the forum has imported one already, but cant remember who it was.

and just to help illustrate dstocks point for ya -
    pre-facelift = combined foglight & indicator unit

facelift = seperate foglights & indicators

then he sold the kit, and a couple of months later he bought another fto.

and as for body kits, you should be able to find some locally :)

Ohh, thanks for pointing that out SILVERFISH :)
The money might be an issue if its like what 18A4RE said .. but can anyone roughly estimate the shipping of this kit to south-west NSW? if too much i'll be unable to get the kit painted for quite awhile >_>

the website doesnt mention anything about insurance but the use UPS which is a pretty reputable delivery service. But you have to ask them when you purchased. Good luck

here's a tip, don't buy through the website  buy it off ebay its cheaper.
hmm a lot has changed on that site too, looks like its run differently.
but i only paid 180GBP for the kit no where near what they advertise it for on their site.
it's advertised on Ebay for 189GBP but on their website its 280GBP so there's a huge saving already of about $200.
off ebay its almost $400 on their site its almost $600AUD so you know where to buy from
and they don't charge as much for freight off ebay for some reason ;)

Sorry to bump a 3 week old topic, but anyways ..
Soo i planned on getting bodykit some weeks ago and now im ready to buy it .. money ready and all just about to to finish off the ebay payment process then i was HIT with the shipping price ... GET READY .......
1200 BUCKS! and thats an estimate price they said via email ! .. sooo total cost of this bodykit made of cheapy ass material but loooks dam sexy will cost about $1700 + a 2 week wait and the risk of bodykit being damaged during shipping *sighs*

should i go for it and pay the INSANE shipping cost OR get the dcuatro style from SSV (however i HATE THE BUMPER with the kit though .. it looks stock and doesnt go well with the skirts and a negative feedback on ebay xD)
Soo, what do y'all reckon? im really stuck in between at the moment :?

Mate, you could a make a bloody mould locally for that! Then you could make heaps of them & sell 'em to recoup your outlay!
