*PICS* Chrome window edge mouldings!

Post by Shahrez »

Got sick and tired of my weathershield protectors so bought a few metres of chrome moulding and decided to stick them on and see how they go! So far, been through numerous car washes, heavy rain, wind, and they are still stuck on as they were when they were first installed!

What do you guys think?

I dont mind it. Shame you couldnt bend around the tight corner at the bottom of the small window though. The sharp edge where the 2 pieces join doesnt look quite right.

What sort of shop sells that stuff?

oh,i got the roll from ebay, around $24 i think for 5 metre roll. u need around 6 metres to cover both sides. i asked for an extra metre. yeah the bit where it isn't joining, there is a empy gap and if i had put the moulding over that to connect it to the bottom edge, from close inpection it would look funny, so i just left it, i can always fix it up later, i got scraps of it left!

But yeah, it does give the car the new age, classy look! Way better than my dark greyish windshield protectors!

Yeah those corners were pretty annoying! but ive figured out a way to fix that up, just gotta cut the ends of the 2 mouldings to fit in a key-lock structure/shape. wont look like a perfect bend, but will be much better.

As for where i got em, got them from ebay hey, 5metre roll for around $24 i think. I asked for an extra metre coz u need at least 6metres for both windows.

It does give the car a new age, classy look! Especially on a dark car, coz with mine, everything is black apart from my mags and my headlights! Soon to be changed!

The spikes on top are like a diffuser. Pushes the car onto the ground at high speed by aerodynamci forces. Its the same principle with aircrraft winglets but instead of attaining more lift at a lower stall velocity, you get pushed to the ground. Just putting my uni degree to use

nice work mate .. I've never liked the chrome trim, but it kinda works on your car ..

have to agree abotu the rear windows.. if you can't get it bend around the corners, you might want to try cutting them at right angles to one another so that they meet up flush.

they took them off the new evo's i think they were good for rear windows/roof lines that ended sharply because it let the air stream continue closer to the paintwork and window and flow through the spoiler better - the old evo9's etc had their rear doors too close to the back end of the car! it looked funky on the evo9 compared to the older version, it would've looked borring w/o them i reckon 8)

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHa ... haha .. HAHAHAHAHA What a douche!

Funny thing is if a cop put that on your speeding fine you'd probably get off on a technicality... like if they put the wrong date :P

hahahahaahhaahahh that would be hilarious! Hopefully that happens if i end up getting a speeding fine! over here in Perth, cops are very sneaky, hiding behind bus stops , billboards and come out ot of nowhere! lol good thing i dont go around hooning, coz its quite easy getting caught over here!
