Bored so Painted my stock FTO mags!

Post by Shahrez »

My new set of mags and rubber should arrive in 2-3 weeks, so whilst i wait, my mags were lookin dirty and chipped and previously dodgy paint job was flakin, so i thought id do it properly this time and see how it goes! i have shytt load of time on my hand due to uni break!! i'll post up the final completion pics prob 2mrow! too dark now! and i still tossin between wether i wanna add a clear laquer top coat to give it that glossy look to match the car paint or leave it matt black.

Basically sanded down the whole mag, degreased, cleaned, and then added a few layers of primer, sanded down again and then a few coats of high temp, weather-proof black paint.

Before car looked like this,

all so what would look good is polish the lip and spray the dimonds red :D that would finish them off.
but again well done great job.

oh they would last a long time, specially since i did it properly with primer and 3 coats of the spray. The spray is engine enamel paint capable of 700 degrees temperatures, as well as very hard wearing. give you an example, after i put them on, 2-3 hours after driving, i took em through a automated car wash and the wheels came out perfectly fine, no marks, scratches, just fine. worse come worse, if u get a bad gash on em or such, you can re-spray it again!

ebay mate, they are vinyls, the dude chucked em in free with the rear vinyl for my taillights. Had them on for a year, no wear or tear and looks wicked when you indicate, glowing orange " FTO" sign appears!
