What color for respray?

Post by GPXXX »

I got a friend who can do complete resrays for a really good price. I have seen examples of his work and it looks top notch so lately I've been contemplating a color respray for my car but i can't decide which of the 3 options I should go for: Monaro Yellow, WRX 555 blue, classic polar White, or just repsray my car in original red (but slightly darker)

Your thoughts?

I was going to do Acid Green like the Monaro, until my missy said NO 8O

But yellow would be my choice out of the three.

im a big sucker for white FTOS and white skylines Mikey....

I know some people think white is boring, but on those two cars its by far my favourite. I made sure when I imported mine that "it had to be white"!

having said that, it is very hard to keep clean! every little possum sh*t, or small stain turns yellow, and tar stands out (can be a nightmare to get off) But when its clean it looks great. depends if you can garage it etc

yellow- can look cool, but over time might get sick of it?

red - a good red always looks nice...

at least a darker car hides blemishes a bit more?

I think the colour that you get should be what you really want it to be, i know you wanted a yellow fto, so maybe you should get yellow.

I think the colour that you get has to reflect the jap racing culture etc. So it has to be a racy colour. If you spray your car orange, with sparkly sh*t then that wouldn't be cool... That's more show... and i don't think your that kind of guy... and that's clearly why you have picked decent colours in the poll

Think, what colour would look best with your fetish with carbon fibre? I personally like the yellow option, or maybe the white that looks different from the white colour of the standard fto. But that's just me....

I like the lighter colours because if you get a carbon fibre bonnet it would look sweet :P

I don't know about the blue colour though, i'm personally having great difficulties imagining what that would look like :?

my brothers starion is in tiger mica gold, and it suits it so well, so much better then the commadores. I think its the straight lines of the car that does it.

As you know Mikey, I hate the look of carbon fibre :P, but having said that, I think white is the best colour as it provides the greatest contrast and really shows off the carbon fibre.

As for passion red, I find this colour too orange. You can particularly notice this when taking photos with a flash. If they had made the FTO in a deeper, richer red rather than the organgy-red, I probably would've got a red one.

ive already put my 2 bobs in, but......

i think if you choose a colour too loud....like some of the comodore colours etc, you will end up getting bored of it?

some of those wild colours date very quickly, and considering the lengths your going to on your car, i would make sure that you are VERY keen on the colour....

cars like porshe, ferrari etc, always look good in red / yellow / black / white... and dont need to get colours that are too loud.... i would just choose one of those (of course in your favourite variation of those colours...).... thats just my opinion anyway
