centre console broken, and exhaust advice

Post by itsasony »

Hi,

my centre console (surrouding the gearbox and up to the cd player location) is entirely broken. the whole plastic. Where to get a replacement?

Also my exhaust has been modded. It has an extra big muffer so it sounds too hardcore for me. i want to tame it down and want it to be quiet. What can i do with the exhaust to lower the sound.

thanks for advice

dstocks maybe able to provide you with a consol shoot him a pm or he will probably answer in this thread shortly.

As for exhaust depends on what you have already. Probably a resonator would do the trick but you may already have one. If you take some pics of the exhaust maybe able to help you more otherwise just take it to an exhaust place and for a couple of hundred dollars they should be able to quieten down for you

Yeah, I can get them from Japan. The exchange rate is not pretty atm though. I reckon itll end up at around $200 (for a genuine brand new one)

A good quality 16" resonator to start with, then a good quality muffler. And by good quality muffler, I mean a straight through unit that sits up under the boot of the car. Not one of these dickhead cannon style mufflers that provide absolutely no muffling effect whatsoever apart from just blowing raw exhaust straight out the rear of the car.

I couldnt agree more but the only problem with that advice is without seeing the exhaust it could be something as simple as a hole in the exhaust or a shot resonator/exhaust.

If you urgently need one itsasony I am willing to sell you mine. It's brand new, I just haven't fitted it cause I want to do something to it first. You'd have to pay me the replacement price though. Whatever that would be dstocks would have to let us know.

ok mate. I might not be able to help you.

Someone might prove me wrong but it looks like your missing the whole passenger side of the floor console as well as the center console I'd say your probably going to need to order both from dstocks. sorry mate. Just figure it's not worth me selling you my bit when you will need both.

This is what I have: The stereo surround. Looks like they've cut around the lighter on yours, should be able to remove that and fit your lighter assembly to a new stereo surround.
        Image

The thing outlined with the red lines in this photo is the floor console. From your photo I think yours is broken on the passenger side.
        Image

Not sure if this is going to help you anymore but this is what mine looks like with the stereo surround and gear boot removed. Sorry I don't have a pick of the upper section but I think your missing a part of the passenger side of the panel that is still in (the floor console) cause yours doesn't come all the way back up again. It doesn't look right around the bottom edge either.

        Image

Sorry mate. I'd say you will need both panels at least. Any chance of a wider photo so that we can see what you might need around the bottom edge as well?

 While he is a great asset to the FTO community and most peoples first port of call when they need something I don't think Dwayne is a store . It's dstocks if that wasn't meant to be a joke mate ;)
