Got the sparking fixed but Yeah...

When connected with the jump, I was pulling around 12v, but would drop when trying to crank it over.... So Yeah.. Thinking I am up for a new battery..

sparking is normal for split second if it continues longer generally means that you have a power draw somewhere

removed front bar, repositioned & re-mounted radiator properly (no zip ties), polished the radiator top & radiator stays to mirror finish, polished a few of the mounting brackets & intercooler piping, finished polishing turbo housing, cleaned engine bay some more, started to take apart the foglights, repositioned headlights, fitted billet grille to front bar (temporary), fitted heavy duty hose clamps on intercooler / turbo piping, made cardboard mock-up for heat shielding & intake box, wrapped exhaust pipes with more ceramic exhaust wrap

I changed my oil this morning.

Now let me rubbish another popular product that all the kids buy off the internet

I've not changed the oil since I got the car back from the build prior to xmas & its done about 7,000kms to date.
The oil I used previous was the almightily hyper-priced, Royal Purple rubbish, and let me just say, after seeing the condition
of oil as it came out, it is rubbish. Gradually over the last few weeks, my once quiet hydraulic tappets, have gone from
an almost inaudible tick, to an almighty clatter. Hence I cracked the sh*ts & changed the oil this morning. Now it was a
10w-40 Royal Purple that went in, but what came out was closer to water. It had completely lost its body & viscosity.

After a couple of conversation with some oil guru's, including some regular track users, I've been advised to go back to basics.
So I did. A full flush & $60 bucks worth of Shell Helix Ultra 5w-40 later, she's purring like a kitten again. Both of the oil suppliers
I've spoken to have both given me the same opinion of Royal Purple - Over priced sh*t that will wear your engine to peices in no
time flat. Judging by what I've seen this morning, I tend to agree.

i completely agree ben .. it's the same for the gearbox oil (manual) I poured about $180 of the stuff into my gearbox & I would say not even 5000km later it was rubbished, absolute crap! (it would have been in there a lot longer if I hadn't needed the clutch done & it drained, but I am damn glad that it was flushed out ..

I've since put some redline oil in, cost me pretty much the same amount, so it'll be interesting to see how it goes..

Motul engine oil seems to go alright, put the 300V in & haven't had any probs, but I think I might try going with the redline engine oil as well..

Just a little more info from you prez.
how hard did you drive that 7000km?
how long ago was your last oil change?

I have RY gear oil in mine and i have to say its not as good as i expected, given that i have spent a fortune on some purple colored oils. Some grinding still can be heard from 1st to 2nd gear when cold.
Looking forward to hear from your feeback about redline gear oils!

my tappets have gone noisier lately, i dont know if its because of my castrol slx 5w30 oil but ill definitely try other stuff.

for the topic, iv painted the middle spoiler blade gloss black along with the middle fin, its not the best job done but im happy with it, kinda like a semi matte and semi smooth.

also painted the left rear caliper gold, now all my calipers are painted
