is it possible to remove the interior part of the roof, roof lining i think its called? and replace it with someone like plastic.

you can remove it, I think its included in a DIY somewhere for getting at the roof rust

Not to sure if you can replce it with something else though

There's been guys that have replaced the roof linings with a fiberglass liner due to either custom paint on roof or monitors ect ect makes it a lot harder though due to the fiberglass will warp the liner so you need to basicly do it in the car would be costly if you got it done pro

As for plastic umm don't no how you would make a pannal like the liner out of plastic

Is there a reason you want to replace the liner ???

Maybe, but if only half the people understand what you are asking/saying, you only have half as much chance of a response. And given that the people who generally know the most about the cars have owned their cars longer and therefore will be older, that makes it even worse. :P
