the thing I just seen though is that the O.E. number is E9T1592 but the number on the one on my car is E9T15296
The HJ Galant is ment to be a strait change over with ours so it should be ok.
so a Question for Ben is there a diferent stepper for the GR and the GPX ?
edit: just had a look at another site and the number on the above listing is the right one (E9T15292)

There are 2 different types, but they are both the same fit. The older model was the grey housing with the brown plastic backing, it was the one notorious for failing. It was superceded by a full black plastic one that was much more reliable.

So do i have to reset the ECU after changing the stepper?
You don't have to, but I like to do it. Sorta resets everything else too - then take it for a good flogging to relearn all its settings. May take a half a day or so for the idle to relearn what its meant to do.
thats great news I started to think that I got the wrong one
I got my new bits the other day the 02 sensor is in and will be putting the stepper in over the weekend.
this seller is fast with postage all items packed well and sent over night delivery.

I just got an 02 sensor for $115 delivered
is no good mate
the FTO lambda sensor has different specs than the one you bought
the engine ecu responds at a different interval than the sensor you bought ; in conclusion you will run eternally rich
(the voltage output of the mitsi spec sensor is way bigger than the regular ones.. consult workshop manual for these)
highly unlikely
look at the appearance is shorter.. the connector is different.. no way mate!
i advise u to buy a couple sh.. the tps's go broken rarely since they are a simple variable resistor!
you will find all the instructions of how to test and fit one on the car in the workshop manual!
i got my 2 tps's with 10 euro each!
to test it fast u need a multimeter pin 1-4 -> 3,5->5Kohm
and 1-3 must rise smooth while rotated
and 1-2 must open the circuit when rotated 4-5 degrees

Well that's funny as I have been running it for some months now and have had no problems at all with it
can someone verify once and for all that a stepper motor for a hj galant interchangable with the FTO. there are all these ebay links but no one has said that its the one that they bought. its mostly 'it should be this one'.
