Automatic/Tip to Manual Conversion...
Hey, I just wanted to know how much it would cost to convert a 4spd auto/tip transmission to a 5spd manual. Because I've been having problems with my tranmission, and if the gearbox changes, I'm thinking about getting it converted to manual in the process.

Re: Automatic/Tip to Manual Conversion...
if you can find a quality half cut, you might be looking at 2.5k for it straight up for parts, bearing in mind you can sell off most of the other parts left over and almost break even. as for labour, if you do most of the work yourself, you could be looking at as little as $500 for misc wiring and brackets, or up to 2k if you get the whole job done professionally. these are just rough guesses, don't take it as a guide.

Re: Automatic/Tip to Manual Conversion...
the job is easy to do but wil need following
-man g/box
-pedal set
-clutch cylinders (master and slave incl lines)
-drive shaftes to suit which man version g/box you have
-lower engine monts ( as man is harder on auto ones)
-flywheel (should be new or at least machined)
-Clutch kit always buy new
-manual dash cluster (not required but recommended)
-Gear selector cables and actual selctor box/shifter
total cost around $1500 (if you can convert yourself) and a load of pissng around trying to find all the parts or buy a half cut take what you need to avoid any problems with drive shafts etc and sell the rest off or keep if you desire.

Nup, just need to bridge a few wires on the existing tip loom.
