Battery light on!
Ok so i used 2 cans of degreaser on my engine bay and then hosed it off then turned my car on and the battery light stays lit up. I just drove 40 mins with it on and i can see the voltmetre dropping in volts slowly!@ its at 10 and a bit volts atm. What do i do? Will i be able to come to the bonfire ? Do i need a new alternator arghhh perfect time for this sh*t to happen to me

Yeah, it was a quick hose just to get the degreaser out
That's when the battery light came on after that. Is there any chance to get this done before the bonfire if i was to recondition it or get a new one and would anyone have any parts? :/ FML i've been waiting months for the bonfire.

Reseat the plug on it & make sure the large positive lead is bolted firmly to the back of it.

Ok, and to get it off how do i go about that? I already tried unplugging the plug in it and putting it back in, is that what you meant?

My best bet trying to find an auto electrician really quick? I need to know where to get a new alternator. the belt works ok and when i disconnect it the battery light comes off if that means anything.

Re: Battery light on!
Which one? The one in the centre of the idler pulley or the adjuster one on top?

Re: Battery light on!
The one in the centre of the pulley itself has to be loosened up for the adjuster one to be able to be moved.Bennoz wrote:Which one? The one in the centre of the idler pulley or the adjuster one on top?

Re: Battery light on!
Yep, we can show you. Question is can we loosen it. Ive had trouble with that one. Cant fit a socket in there and a ring spanner doesnt easily fit either.
