Re: HKS FTO
I might have a hunt in my garage for the spare heap of fuel hose I have.
If I find it, we might move that fpr to the firewall, where it should be.
Having that much weight on flexible hose is not a good thing.

I've got a shed load of the stuff leftover from my last little venture into fuel system upgrades..Astron_Boy wrote:I might have a hunt in my garage for the spare heap of fuel hose I have.

That'd be great is you can but don't worry too much, really don't want to have to work on the car this weekend. (apart from the seat bracket)

Re: HKS FTO
Pleasure dealing with you Al.
No doubt the car is a lot faster and brakes better.
You stated the spring rates were 6kg/mm front 5 rear.
They are actually 6 front and 4 rear.
And for the ones that say its too stiff then experience it and then you will see for suspension that is have about twice the spring rate of a set of lowering springs which are generally 10-15% stiffer it doesnt offer a very harsh ride at all.
For anyone who is wondering I fitted the suspension all up and fitted the antilift caster kit on the front to increase caster by 0.5deg along with additional antilift change in geometry.
I got the car dialled in with an alignment that I think Al would enjoy and not kill his tyres too much. Compromise anyway.
Going by memory:
Camber front -1.3deg
zero toe front
Rear camber -1.8 (max out rear camber adjustment to postive.
Rear toe 0.2mm toe out for a little better turn in but not too aggressive since the swaybar setup on the stock FTO GPX is stiffer at the rear.
16mm front and 18mm rear for the prefacelift model anyway.
I think if the car has a standalone ECU and larger injectors to remove the quite outdated additional injector setup then the car can be dialled in a lot better thats for sure since the current setup has no control over ignition timing.
Maybe down the track perhaps.

Re: HKS FTO
I've got 1 hour free from now. Going to go for a happy lap and then am hitting the cans so will be putting the car away for another week.
Not enough time to make it to yours and back Ben.
Sweep, how long are you in Sydney for? We might have to do a meet up on a skool night.

^^^This. There wasn't enough room to max out 1st gear and make a psssht, plus you probably can't hear it over the exhaust in there anyway.aza013 wrote:that wall came up fast

It only does it when I come off the gas, it doesn't do it between gear changes.Astron_Boy wrote:That, and it's auto, never really heard a pssht from an auto, though never heard a worked one.

Re: HKS FTO
Apples and oranges the HKS to my RVR, but it was auto, and absolutely shocking if you fell off boost. When it finally came back on boost you were either nearly up the bum of what was in front of you, or ran out of time.
