Universal 4 wire and nope.

I replaced it because I started to get really bad fuel economy but it turned out to be a very heavily soiled air filter.

So I can just go to Repco and get a generic universal 4 wire or must it be car specific?

Yes, you can go to Repco and get a generic universal 4 wire o2 sensor. There won't be any plug on the end (hence the universal) but this diy viewtopic.php?f=23&t=13136 covers what to do with it.

Happy Sodering. (Sorry, been watching too many American Discovery channel shows. What is with Americans not pronouncing the l in soldering /endrant)

I know what you mean. i think rev-wise you probably mainly use the 1500~sub3000 range. I think that's when the torque and power is low. I found that when i'm on a cruise, im usually above 3000 on lower than usual gears and I was surprised to get more mileage. Realized that thats around the range where the engine uses less petrol as there is more torque and power - I dont fully understand it but its somewhere along those lines.

Sub 7-8??? How many petrol engines get this in any car? Even a tiny arse hatch back with tiny motor would hardly get this in real world test.

I was getting 10l in a ford fiesta!! A mirage gets 7-8 and that's with bullshit manufacturer claims you never will be able to do in a smaller car with smaller engine.
