clear side repeaters

just wondering if anyone has bought these from an australian supplier, also if they were easy to put on. they are 52GBP from funky products.
hey if anyone else is interested they may do a group buy for us. they also have the clear rear lights for 399GBP (a bit pricey, but i definitely want them.)

Will did a group buy of the indicators a little while ago, I don't know if he got any spare ones. Might pay to PM him or search for the old thread.

In terms of Australian suppliers, Perfect Run generally have these in stock. ( www.perfectrun.com.au )

As for the rear taillights, although Funky refers to them as "clear" they are actually white and are illegal in Australia. The true clear ones, the Altezza style ones were made in limited numbers by project-F in Japan. Every now and then they pop up on eBay for sale but generally go for around $2K. These ones are legal in Australia and look sh*t-hot! Steve is working on getting these made for a lower price. It will probably take some time, and if you want more info on this there's a thread on this in the styling section (from memory).

a little suggestion...

When installing these repeaters if you rotate them 90 degrees the bit in the middle looks like a diamond and looks a little nicer than installing them straight when it looks like a square.

guese who is a "dickhead". I have just made a posting to the forum on "clear indicators". I meant to submit to this forum.

I could possibly have some clear repeaters made. I need someone to tell me how to get either one of mine out (to take some measurements) or get an old one (cracked or broken, as long as all the bits are there). Then I can draw a CAD model and get a cost for having one of our spare moulds modified.

easiest way to take it out is to get a small flat screw driver, wrap it in a rag(to stop it scratchin your car) and on the top or bottom of the indicator is a small gap, prise it under and out pops the indicator...
just be careful of
a)the metal springy bit doesnt get lost
and
b)you dont lose the cables down into the car when you take them off..

Oh, and try not to force them out, cos then you will bend the metal clamps, which will need bending back... I learnt the lesson

right, I managed to get one of them off. now how do you get the lens bit out of the holder and how do you get the globe / bulb out? I could move the grey bit about, but it did not seem to want to come out. I think I could get a mould made for about $250.00. so if I can get one out and make a drawing, I am willing to pay for this if I can get a promise of some orders.

the lens doesn't come off, the bulb come out from the bottom.

You'd have a larger opportunity if you were able to make Altezza style taillights!

I just got my clear indicators from Perfect Run, took less than a week and cost $140 including postage.
I have to say, they are "sar-weeet!". It was really easy to fit them too. I sort of busted the old one slightly pulling it off but once I saw how they were attached inside, the second took about 60 seconds.
Now all I need to do is install my clear tail lights

all up it has cost me about 2 hours work and $10.00 for the old lamp and holder, it is not fitted perminantly yet. I am looking at trying to cut down on the making time so if anyone was interested I might be in the supply side.

Please tell me what you think, I am part of the GOD brigade(Grow Old Disgracefully) not the other god lot.

I think if I charge $10.00 for a pair plus postage which should only be $0.50.
