lolz thanks bennoz, isnt there like a forged or stronger option for us? ive only lost 3rd 4th 5th and reverse lolz thats not so bad i think hehe...is there any inter changeable boxs with the fto like a 4g92 box maybe?

Sure its not your selector bracket thats let go as opposed to the box? The gear clusters used in our boxes are the same as that used in legnums & early evos. I keep breaking everything around the box, like the diff or a bearing lol

You could get a Mirage Cyborg dogbox and put in it ;)

i thought it might have been easier to just replace the box instead of messing around, just got off the phone to jap heaven in melb they want $990 bucks for a box wtf. think i might open this one up and see wht can be done :)..hey bennoz have you broken any selector rods before? cyborg dog box ?

Never busted a selector rod, but am pretty handy pulling them apart & rebuilding them :lol:

you got any spare ones lying around i can buy off you incase i need one, also i was told a lancer/mirage gearbox is the same as our ftos ones, true?

The guts of them are pretty much the same.

I do have some spare rods, which one did you need?

sweet your a life saver bud, im not sure what i need atm but from the symtoms it feels like a rod as i still have gears 1,2 and 3 lost 4,5 and reverse :s ... gona pull her apart on thursday and hopefully the rest of the box is ok. and the other thing i was gona ask you was engine mounts, how much and where did you get them from please :)..

hey ben, i opended up my gear box, ive managed to snap the secondary gear shaft in half, you got any spare one lying around from any of your dead boxs i can buy off you? this car is fighting me all the way dam it grrrr

Ah crap, sorry forgot about your pm. I do have some of the shafts, but they're fucked, I wouldn't sell them to you. I plan on using them as press tools lol

Which leads me to my next question, how the hell did you snap one of them? They are a good inch thick. Sounds like you might have had an oil flow problem...

The only gearbox I have seen destroy itself in person was my mates hardly modded cyborg.

hey ben nah, while the car was getting tuned it snapped clean, my tuner said my clutch is too hard...but my mechanic managed to find me a spare one from an evo 3 and rebuilt it but now i have a spare box as i went out and baught a new one grrrr thanks for the help bud :D...dam 6a13 too much power gotta love it though

hey ben thought id give you alil insight in what i found out. a lancer gear box 5mf42 range has the same internals as our cars and if you ever need gears or shafts head down to jolly rogers, itll cost ya 97 bucks for a full gearbox :D..heheh

Ha! Also found out today the diff is the same as a Magnas LOL

Its a helical LSD thats coming out of the states yes :lol: Originally designed to fit the Eclipse turbos, just happens to fit a Magna & FTO!

what year magna ans series bud?, btw ben if you need any spare parts for your box i got spares now :) just sitting there and two twin turbos aswell :)
