You can choose between cheap (car trailer and road trip for four days) or easy (pay to have it couriered up). You can't have both.

Edit - Actually having it couriered wouldn't be to bad depending on the costs for getting said trailer and accommodation.

Road trip you're looking at around $400 in fuel (depending on efficiency of towing car), and $300 odd in accommodation. Plus food on the road and the cost of hiring the trailer. If you can get a good deal on the trailer from a mate and crash on couches there and back then the road trip becomes a lot more cost effective.

i got my fto transported up from melbourne to brisbane, my mum paid for it ofcourse :D was about 1k-1.1k door to depo cause fto was about 10.5cm high, (needed some special insurance) and that was from CEVA (depo is in acacia ridge) and that was about the cheapest i could get for '10.5cm clearance) most were around 800 depot to depot and 900-1000 for door to door
good luck!
