WHY DO FTO's.......
why do fto's get bagged out. I dont understand why ppl reckon its a crap car?? i own one and think its a great car...its nothing like a lancer, though the toptronic gearbox is a let down, the fto should deserve more credit for the car that it is.

straight line is one thing... a lot of the times the driver is the weak link...Stas wrote:You guys dont have faith in your FTO's.....i have videa recordings of my FTO beating 2.0 turbo 180sx

its a beast of a machine
there is nothing more annoying that going onto the front straight of a race course and having a boosted car (even 4cyl like a 180) just pass you without too much effort... once there on boost it's all over...
a stock 180 turbo is slightly lighter and has slightly more power than an FTO... most likely it is the driver that you beat not the car...

how true that is steve..... i believe a driver makes the car not the car making the driver..... man ive seen drivers look like grandmas against less powerfull cars cause they aint changing gears at the right time/efficiently, man u gots to know how to drive a car to appreciate any of its performance capabilities ..... just my 2 cents
just because my mates cars ie. skyline, wrx make a whistling noise, they are automatically bettre then my FTO
pfft i just laugh and im still the one without an accident lol... (touch wood) i love my baby , it out handles any of my other cars and if i could afford it id def soup it up abit then it would b perfect!!!!!! its in the works
now can anyone help me find a HIRO wing at a reasonable price
plzzz

i have always thought of turbo car drivers as being insecure abt their driving abilities hence buying a powerful car so no matter how crap they are they can still manage to beat someone hehe
but i agree the fto is an awesome car...it looks so sexc. though im moving onto a civic coupe i will alwasy have a soft spot for the fto
ps: does anyone know if a new version of an fto will ever be released??

I agree it comes back to the Driver..
I had a young guy in a skyline with turbo come beside me and drag me at a set of lights.... i think he didn't bargain on the fact that this girl wasn't prepared to back off, and when it came to the crunch I think nerves got the better of him. When I saw him absolutley stunned in my revision mirror, I think he wasn't expecting this little car to have so much power!!
Just goes to show never under estimate female drivers... sometimes they will do what it takes to push it over the line, especially if she has a manual and knows how to use it
