Project FTO Black Hole
So I thought I would post something up to try and keep me in line with this haha, and somewhere to keep it all documented.
At the moment, I do not just yet have an FTO, but will try and get one when we get back from our cruise in Australia.
The plan is to get a hold of a Manual GPX, otherwise, an Auto and do a manual conversion.
Interior:
1:- respray a lot of the panels, with silver to modernise it.
2:- Leather seats, probably black with grey highlights
3:- White Dials, with silver trims
4:- In-dash CarPC, possibly with the trim moulded around the screen, to look stock
Exterior:
1:- I'm Very tempted by Dstocks Rear Bumper
2:- And Front Bumper
3:- Type R Wing - Or similar
4:- Possibly Kaze fenders
5:- Either Tint rear lights, or black Project F rear lights, if i can find them
6:- de-key the boot
7:- Matte Black wrap!!
Engine:
I'm not too sure what I am going to do here, I may eventually do a 6A13TT swap, but this will be quite a while into the future...
Exhaust:
1:- Decat
2:- Quad Exhaust
Some pics of my inspiration:
So as you can see, quite a lot of body work will be done...
Now about finding a nice job, and car....

Re: Project FTO Black Hole
We can get it done in Wellington here for just a tad about 1.5K NZD, so about 1.2K AUD
SIKFX is the company, they have never done an FTO before, but they said that they have done a GTO which was 1800NZD so the FTO would be cheaper

Re: Project FTO Black Hole
Have sent away for a bunch of quotes for the wrapping.
We realised that although SikFX may be one of the cheapest, getting our cars up to wellington is going to cost a fortune
Have found a few places more local, but just waiting for more replies :s

Re: Project FTO Black Hole
So went and had a look at a '95 GPX locally today
First impressions are that it's very tidy on the outside, exhaust sounds awesome! But the interior needs some work done to it
We took it for a drive up three mile hill, went up no problems, Got up the top and there was some steam coming out of the bonnet If you look at the pics, the steam was coming out around the radiator fill cap. It is also a little brown in that area.
We're not too sure what it was but the engine was at normal temperature, and the needle sat about mid way.
Apart from that it drove quite nicely.
The interior had some problems. The radio surround was cracked, but that's no biggie. The left passenger Door kick thing was missing. The centre console lid was missing the clip to hold it down, and that's about it. The only other thing was the Steering wheel was a little small for my liking.
Gear box wise, the clutch was all good, but the gears where a little hard to get into, you had to give it a decent push to engage, Any ideas here?
The spoiler had been removed, and the holes just covered up, but they still have the original spoiler in the garage. No noticeable rust on the body, just seems to be a little around the catch in the engine bay for the bonnet.
Wiring was a little messy for the subwoofer in the boot, but that's no biggie. Some pics of the car below, but not many as I just took a lot of vid for it, May edit and upload it later but not sure if I will :p

Neatly flushed panels. Any sign of water leak around the water pump?
Good luck with the search

Re: Project FTO Black Hole
Didn't take a look there, The steam was coming from near the radiator refill cap, so I don't think it would be the water pump. We where thinking maybe on of the heater pipes?

Faulty radiator cap more likely.

When coolant pressure builds, will promote more leaks.

Um... yeah, replace the radiator cap?
Could also be thermostat. Start with cap.

Good coolant wont cause rust stain, was the owner just using water? Could remove the top radiator hose to check for debris. Unhealthy coolant can also cause the thermostat, water pump to seize in the long run.
