WANTED - Front air scoop

Post by Daniel2019 »

Upon removing my bumper, found my air scoop (?) as in the black plastic between the engine and front bumper is in parts, split and cracked and sh*t. Is anyone selling one/have a spare one? Can pickup in Sydney area if needed :)

Throw it as hard as you can, at a lesser car.

Seriously, leave it off, its just extra weight.

It's supposed to direct air into the radiator but as Ben said, it's excess weight.

With or without it, the air's still going to go into it.

Am I better off keeping it (new one, though) or getting rid of it completely? Extra weight vs little bit of air direction?

No, it doesn't make any noticable difference.

Bin it. I got rid of mine when I got my car.

If you didn't notice it was there, you definately won't notice it when its gone.

 probably weighs about 20grams so that'll be about .000000000000001 seconds faster down the quarter

But seriously, unless you're racing it or running a turbo you won't really miss it. If your car does run hot then you will definitely miss it, as it does direct air through the radiator. Air will follow the path of least resistance, so if it can go around the radiator it will.

My previous turbo racecar we had the front bar completely sealed to the radiator. Air had no where to go except through. This gave us back about 5degrees in water temp. Still ran too f**king hot though

I mounted my cold air intake into the side of it, because that's how I roll.
