I went and had another look at it today, while I was waiting in town for my sister

I took a better look at it, and took some more pics of a few things.

This is some of the worst damage to the front skirt, that whole piece is being held on with tape 8O

Image

The, in my opinion, horrible exhaust :x

Image

And now for a few questions...

Is this the stock suspension? It's the best photo I could get on my mobile sorry :(

Image

Does anybody know what would cause this on the front bumper/bonnet?

Image

Image

and does anybody know what I could get to fill this hole in, in the dash?

You've just photographed 4 reasons right there.

Why buy a car that instantly needs sh*t fixing?

There are better examples out there, have patience.

4 things that need fixing?
1. Exhaust is fine, any FTO that i get, I want to change to quad exhausts.
2. Is there any reason to replace the suspension? once again I may be doing that on any that i get to lower it anyway...
3.bonnet, I have no idea what's wrong with it, that's why i posted it up
4.???

yes there are better ones out there... but they are 2-3K more, and 100s of Ks away,
this is just around the corner.

You haven't even been for a test drive in it yet, there could be a million mechanical things wrong with it.

Having done 203,000 kays, I'm willing to wager a $50 that the 200k timing belt & water pump change hasn't been done, so there's an instant thousand bucks to spend.

That front lip is damaged beyond repair, that will disintegrate if you tried to fibreglass it up & the reason the bonnet is bent up is more than likey due to someone slamming the bonnet shut while there was a tool or battery charger or something still under it...

But... it's your money

To test the suspension you really need to drive it. Again I'm guessing, but I'd reckon the bushes will all be shot (sway bar bushes, lower control arm bushes, strut top mounts) as will all the droplinks.

If you want to test the springs / shocks push down on the car hard & watch it spring back. If there is any 'bounce' back up & down again, then the shocks are fucked.

Oh yea I know there could be mechanical faults etc etc,
Kustom just said to walk away, I wanted to know why he would say that when it hasn't been fully inspected yet.

The front lip is just a few screws to remove from what I saw, and it doesn't bother me removing it.
The timing belt was done around 160,000Ks they said, although i'm not too sure about teh water pump.

and yea that sounds about right for the bonnet....

I'll definitely try that with the suspension on wednesday when we take it for a drive.
Anything else specific I should do to check stuff with the car, apart from the normal things you do when test driving it?

Sooooo took it for a drive...
I think I may have a new car :D
Drives perfectly, engine is in immaculate condition :D
Although it does have a mivec controller too...
anyway, taking it to an engineer as soon as I can get it booked in to get it all checked out.
then if it is all good, I may just buy it :D
oh and it is lowered too.
parked it up next to my mates FTO and it was certainly lower
