Ben, flywheel for 6a thru rpw is $500, can get 4g92 items for as little as $200.
Don't wanna fluff around with starter etc, though, that was never mentioned before.
How far could I go lightening the standard flywheel?
I don't think it's an uncommon thing to do, but personally I never would, I value my legs too much
Bear in mind Fidanza don't make a flywheel for the FTO 6A12 Mivec engine. The RPW one is a flywheel for a different model modified to suit. I can't remember where I found the details on this but if you were to buy the flywheel and do the modifications yourself this might be cheaper (from memory there wasn't much modification required). Also bear in mind from memory the RPW one comes with a set of ARP bolts, there's $70 to $100 of the price right there.
I'll see if I can dig up the paperwork on mine, it certainly wasn't that expensive, RPW must have put up their prices. I paid a little over $300.
I may also have the manufacturer code from mine too, then you can go direct to one of the other Fidanza distributors like Rocket Industries.
You may also be able to order direct from the US. They may well be used in an Eclipse or something, in which case they'll be heaps cheap.
I'm also starting to think the whole 'modified to fit' bit is BS too..
I'll email Fidanza in the US tonight & get some specs & measurements to them. Its gotta be one off the list here, 228501 with a 7 bolt centre seems to ring a bell. Requiring longer bolts of course, as the centre plate is thicker.
The 9th one down..
Would that work?
For eclipse turbo, #161731
161111 is the # I have read as the one for 6a12.
That #161731 though, that's the one I can get for $200
