Why would you have to take the strut out, even if you have to remove the engine mount and jack the engine up?
The strut is on the outer side of the body, the alternator is on the inside. I didn't remove the strut to jack the engine up when I did my water pump!

I just did mine today it took me 1hr 37mins to do it i didnt have to remove the exhaust or the suspension (which i was told by the supplier of the new alternator). All i had to do was undo the alternator, undo the bracket the alternato is attached to, undo the wires connecting the alternator and it was out. My car is a non mivec though maybe that made the difference??

Strange everyone is saying "Need to remove exhaust, need to remove struts etc etc." yet other people have got it out simply by unbolting things such as the manifold.

I think because the GR has more space it can be done easier.

If I end up getting the alternator out (and have some spare time) I'll do a picture DIY for everyone
