Brake pads

Been told my brake pads are pretty much gone, so im thinking of changing them.

Looking for some decent priced quality stuff lol

Can someone recommend me different brands of brake pads and their price (:

The Mintex 1155 were the best but they are about $170 a pair from memory

So far I have used Race Brakes RB74s with stock discs, and EBC Green Stuff with DBA slotted/cross drilled discs. I found the first combination was better.

Perhaps you'd be better with some Bendix Heavy Duty then. About $70 a pair, DB1223. Available from most auto shops.

Yeah, they're ok for street. Some people don't like them, but for the price, they're ok. Either that or the Ferrodo heavy duty (4WD) are in the same price & performance category.

Quote the Bendix number (its a baseline reference for pads all over Aussie parts stores) then tell 'em you want the equivalent in the Ferrodo.

How much were the RB74s, and how fast did they warm up?
I drove a friends Verada with RDA rotors + some pads (not sure what they were) and when driving it cold the brakes pretty much didn't work

They took a few minutes to warm up, I think they cost around $180 for the two front pads, but that was several years ago so the price has probably changed.

You do realise how dangerous running race pads on the street that don't work until they're warmed up is right.

So next time you're cruising down the motorway and need to emergency brake you might as well not bother. For your sake I hope you only kill yourself.

Didn't overheat going through Kangaroo Valley on the way to the bonfire and we had heaps of traffic in front making us brake all the way down. Didn't we Sahin

I ened up getting Mitsubitshi factory brake pads, those green pads? o-o

Ended up costing me $100bux and 40bux labour to install ==

What are thses green thingo pads?

I haven't driven on race pads, but from my knowledge this is only a problem once you drive off from a cold start. Once they warm up they stay warm because there is always some brake drag (I could be wrong, but this is how my friends Verada was with unknown pads which did not work cold)

Have you ever used RDA rotors? How big is the difference between RDA and DBA slotteds?
