Re: Import FTO
Honestly, you are better off buying a local with such a gamble.
Last thing you want is to buy a car you have no hope of getting complied.
Also, there are rules to importing a car that must be adhered to. As such, you can't import a car to fix it up and have it looked at in 3 months time. I can't remember the exact timing, but it is not as long as you may hope it be.
If you have 3K to 'risk' then good luck, I would suggest a smarter approach.

Re: Import FTO
I would say wait it out and keep and eye on the forums/gumtree/car sales.
You should have got the red one from New Castle, if you know how to drive a manual and have the license it would have been a brilliant drive back.

Re: Import FTO
Has anyone actually imported an FTO lately? There are some nice examples from Japan, but you'll be spending over 10k anyway for a complianced and registered car.

Re: Import FTO
Yeah, there's been a couple.
Cant remember their names right now, but on of the vRs were brought in not long ago, personal import. (or atleast, he did the leg work so to speak)
