Healight Light Housing - HID vs Non HID.

Post by Shhtuart »

Does anyone know if there's any differences in the headlight housings between the two?

Meaning are the factory HID healights exactly the same (minus the running light on the inside) but with the HID ballast attached to the bottom?

I found out that my passengers side headlight is cracked on the back plastic part and I am hoping it's an easy replacment.

Unless my headlights were swapped over with compliance, which is highly unlikely, then mine are the same as a regular FTO, i think its the clip outside the headlight thats different which holds in the HID / ballast.

going off astron boys FTO, it had factory HIDS. there is a difference, as the balast is bolted to the headlight housing on the under side of the headlight. not sure how you'd go finding a replacement cheaply though. you'd have to go to a panel beater methinks, or get in contact with dstocks

Definitely different. Have both on the shelf in the shed. Hid lights have the little stands for the ballast to bolt to, no hid do not.
