Re: Love my tappets
Dude, the reason why the irridiums are $21 compared to the $6 coppers is because they last much longer - and considering our rears are a pain to get to, this isn't a bad thingDaniel2019 wrote:Only just got paid today so I couldnt order them online.. (where they were cheap!)

Then again, they are cheaper from Camskill, where I got mine

Re: Love my tappets
Yep. I would rather buy them online and save 50 odd dollars.. Earning $12 an hour sucks
$120-$130 is too much for a set of spark plugs. I wouldve got them online but I only got paid today.

Hopefully it doesn't rain tomorrow. Or for Phil's sake, hopefully it does.

You don't need long life plugs in the rear bank. Just get coppers they are good for 50k! Takes 15 minutes to get the inlet manifold off.

Rain and thunder storms are forcasted for tonite and tomorrow morning, but sunny afternoon. (it has already started to rain here)Vectose wrote:Hopefully it doesn't rain tomorrow. Or for Phil's sake, hopefully it does.
For now it's still a go ahead, but if you get up in the morning and the weather looks crap you decide 'weather' to come.
If it gets rained out we can still do it another saturday

Re: Love my tappets
Went well, no more ticking
I just got home haha. We finished around 9:30 or so. 12 hours of tappets
Again big thank you to Phil for doing pretty much 3 sets of tappets back-to-back and to Vectose for help with the difficult jobs and guidance

DIY Tappet Day Review
We had a great day full of laughs, work and very dirty hands. Daniels hands even got dirty We all got to meet each other and you all are a great bunch of guys.
We had all 4 FTO's turn up. Everyone got stuck into stripping engines, mainly each owner stripped their own with Vectose and myself guiding them.
I had the great opportunity to adjust 3 engines tappets = 72 tappet screws All engines left quieter than they arrived.
Everyone reconstructed their own engines, again with guidence and help on the more difficult parts.
We started work @ 9am and finished work @ 9pm.
I believe all members learnt a lot about the FTO engine.
Only breakages/losses.....
bass_twitch = 1 broken bolt
sivan = 1 broken bolt
Daniel = 1 missing sensor plug lockdown clip (well I actually lost it )
Saying for the day "Be The Triangle"
Thanks for a great day and for the Jim Beam
Video..... I didn't get to film sivans (sorry mate)......I added my own engine to this video although I done my tappets 2 days earlier......
Pics.....
