WTB- Gearbox mount GPX 5 Speed tip.

Post by poahfto »

hey guys, as the title says i'm in need of a gearbox mount.

It's the one located underneath the battery tray. My cars a 2000 model GPX with the 5 speed tiptronic transmission.
New or used i don't care at this point as long as it's in good condition.
i've had no luck finding one, and i don't want to go to Mitsubishi Australia lol
If any of you guys could help it would be awesome :D.
thanks in advance

Tbh I wouldn't buy used
And if you're changing one you may aswell do them all
Do a quick search and it will let you know where and how much new ones are

i recently done all the mounts except for the gearbox, so i just wanna fix what's broken at this point.
i don't plan on keeping the car for long either so i don't want to spend much money on it.

Better off with new ones. Are mounts for 5 speed tip different to those for 4 speed?

Try contacting dstocks

Yes, bracket is slightly different, but I'm 90% sure the rubber insert is the same across all of them.

Have a read of this: viewtopic.php?p=305439#p305439

If unsure, throw a set of verniers over it & ring Meek to confirm the sizes. Then its simply a matter or pressing the old one out & the new one in.

Different bracket, 99% positive same insert, from last time I measured.

Update-
The Ralliart Evo 7-9 Top engine mount insert is definitely the same size as the 5 speed tip gearbox mount.
I chucked it in last night lol those gearbox mounts are a tad annoying to get back in.

ps the lady at meek knew you by name bennoz, she said you buy heaps of mounts lol.

She also asked that if we buy mounts from there, to let her know which part fits where on the FTO, so that they can add it to their database, ultimately making it easier for us to find/order them.

haha no way! She added my one on there.
My car's finally running a little better now, only one sound to fix left haha

Would it be the timing belt if it's making a sort of ticking sound from drivers side (only when in drive or reverse, not neutral/park)

Bron's pretty easy to chat to.
Thing is she gets swamped with the amount of calls and people in the office, etc.
