It just sits there. I don't think you will be able to get the original Galaxy Tab to fit as it is quite thick.

Awesome work!
Now only if we could manage something like Torque to work with our car!!
Yeah I love Google Now.
Used it on my Note with CM10 roms. I am back to ICS for now. Need to make sure the tablet I get is thin enough to fit in between the center console and the back panel. I would have to remove the double din though...

Best way to hook up audio would be via a digital line out from the charging port, as it would be the cleanest audio. But you don't get a external microphone if you do that.shadowarrior wrote:I would have to remove the double din though...
Another way is headphone jack to AUX on a head unit like I did.
Or headphone jack split into RCA's going to an amp.
Both of these allow you to use an external mic.

I'll have a play around with it tomorrow, the original tab is only 12mm thick.
I just upgraded it from 2.3 to 4.1 which is a huge upgrade in the feel of using it

The thing with the original is its squared edges. The Tab 2 is curved on the edges and is still a tight fit at the top of the stereo surround.

Re: What work did you do on your car today?
^^ nice, pics/video?
It mostly fits

I had to remove the top bar, and I will have to grab the dremel and remove a bit of the lower bar.

The only problem I can see is going to be the power connector....

and on topic, that's what i've done to my car today
Did a quick test fit/modsVectose wrote:The thing with the original is its squared edges. The Tab 2 is curved on the edges and is still a tight fit at the top of the stereo surround.

Just couldn't wait could you?
For the power connector and headphone jack. There are holes in the sides of the floor console. I just had to widen them up a bit.

Like I said, just needed to widen the hole up a bit. No other modifications.
The crack has been there since I bought the car.

I use a widget called "Volume Control Widget", it can be seen on the photo I put up where the tablet is powered.
But I will soon be getting a bluetooth device that has volume control, next/prev track and home buttons.
Still need to figure out where to put it, perhaps the steering wheel.

Ahh, sweet.
I just found an application called 'volume control' and it's just a tiny overlay, that you can even make invisible.
You just slide your finger up the side of the screen to control it

Yeah, I used that app for a bit, but it was a bit too buggy and kept crashing.

Got it installed
I'm not too sure if it's going to charge well or not, thanks to samsung's weird way of doing things...
