In regards to the tablet in the dash, if I wire it up the the 12V constant, it shouldn't drain the battery in a day or two, should it?
Mine's not getting enough charge to stay on
Once it's dead, I have to pull the dash apart to turn it back on again...

It's not the biggest battery in the world, but I can't see the tablet using all that much.
When the car is off, the tablet goes into power saving mode, so it shouldn't drain much of it's own battery.
So really the tablet shouldn't be using much power at all... Hmm...

Only thing you can do is try it out and see if it drains it.
Once the Tablet is charged 100% it shouldn't draw much power at all.

tablets can stay on standby for a week if not more! There is no way it will drain a batt.

I'll give it a go when my power adaptor arrives, i Drive the car every day so it should be fine...

I know I'm bumping an old thread :p
So I'm finally getting around to wiring this in...
I can't access this plug in the fuse box, due to said metal bracket, which is covered by the alarm wiring...
With the wiring going up the pillar, well there are lots of them there due to the sun roof.
Of those that are not constant 12V there is one thet changes when the doors are opened, but this goes to 12V when the doors are closed and 0V when open?

Ignore that, Wired up a relay and it's working now
Now for some reason my boot release has stopped working... Oh well tomorrow...
Wired it up like this:
85 - Switched ground from pillar
86 - Constant Power
30 - Constant Power
87 - Positive to EL inverter

You don't need a relay. You can just wire them directly. They don't draw much power.

The wire I found was a switching ground, I don't even know if I could wire into that, but a relay does the job anyway, and only took 2 minutes to wire up
