Just wet sand the whole car back with 400grit and wack the silver on.. Apparently when doing the last few coats on silver I'm supposed to mix a fair bit of clear in with it
According to the bloke at the paint shop.Plans was to put all of the silver on, then flatten it with 1500grit I think, then put all the clear on. Dunno what to do now

Silver.. Then 1500 grit.. Then clear.. A good few coats of clear.. Then cut back and buff and polish.
You always have to cut back the clear, as you will always get imperfections from the gun and air. So you will always need to cut back and buff/polish.
Spraying right is a labour intense and timely job. That is why it costs so much..

Could u tell me why this is turning out sorta patchy, it's like a thousand little rough dots that are giving it a cloudy effect. In the sun can't even notice, but from shady angles it looks completely fucked. Do I sand these out or is it water or something in the paint.. Photos explain it better then I do

yess. Wax and grease remover. Wet the ground and everything around. Making sure there is no dust at all. Am using a water on the compressor so surely it's not oil or water.

Been a long time since I worked as a spray painter though, and tended to use 2pk paint as it was less work out of the gun.. But a long time to dry out of the booth.

Should also use a tac cloth.. Good for getting particle's and stuff off that the wax and grease remover just pushes around.
You can also get an effect like that if there was any silicon on the surface. But if you wax and grease removed thoroughly, that should of got rid of it..
