I have a suggestion...

Can the manufacturer post it via their normal postal service (air mail?) It will probably cost less then $ 50 each and it will arrive at our doorstep...

With courier services, it's more likely that it will be hit with taxes and duties, especially if it is a big shipment.

Yes this is very possible, however I have no idea how much it will cost, are you sure it will be under $50 for airmail ? the seats weight a few kilos

Well as an example - to get a flywheel that weighed about 15kg airmailed from the US to oz (2 day service) it only cost me $100. But I really don't have any idea about the Phillipines..

Does anyone know of the name of the Phillipines postal carrier? They should have a postage calculator on it. Ill do a search on teh web

I just had a look at http://www.philpost.gov.ph/index.htm

They have a postage calculator located at
http://www.philpost.gov.ph/internationalrate.asp

Airmail -
600 pesos for the first kg
335 Pesos per kg after that.
5kg = 1940 pesos = $45aud

Surface mail -
457 pesos for the first kg
158 pesos per kg after that
5kg = 1089 pesos = $25aud

I dont know what the timeframes are though...

Mike

PS - I would still like to be part of the first 5 people and am ready to send the money :)

sending items via normal post in the Philippines would not be advisable...

i would suggest fedEX...
they have the 25kilo boxes for $149US...
http://www.fedex.com/ph
a set of seats weigh 5kilos...
i dont know whether we can fit 5 sets in the box though coz its a small box (44cm x 56cm x 35cm) but it just might fit coz they're vaccum sealing the seats...

TOTAL AMOUNT

For the 5 sets that my sister's bringing home, it will be
$120 (seats - P5000PHP - rate at the moment is really good)
$ 50 (postage)

$170 total

*note* i added an extra $5 for the price of the seats because they might charge us for two-toning the covers....

she's leaving this saturday so we need to give her the money then...

she's offering to put in the order for the Other 10 or so sets, pacakging them and feDEXing it for no extra charge, as long as ofcourse you pay for the feDEX fees/customs tax etc.
so if you guys do decide to let her handle that, she needs the money before she leaves too...

the total price for the other 10 or so sets i have not calculated coz idont know how much it is exactly thru fedex... but the seat price is the same as above...
but if we take the figures from fedex above, it works out to be $40 each set, + tax... ($200AUS / 5sets = $40)

AGAIN, no profit will be gained by me or GAV from this group buy.... the $50 will go to my sister's efforts, and you decide whether thats a fair deal or not...

COLOURS

DARK GREY
LIGHT GREY
BLACK
LIGHT BEIGE
DARK BEIGE
WHITE
MAROON
DARK BROWN
NAVY BLUE
DARK GREEN
YELLOW
ROYAL BLUE

i dont know how GAV will handle who's in the 5sets and whos in the fedex, but ill let you organise that??
the important thing is we get to hand in the money by saturday....
ill be online most of the day today to answer questions...
cheers

Maybe you could post them all to one address in Melbourne, and then one of us, could just re-distrubute them or something... if it makes it any easier?

not sure, but wanted to say thanks again.

Hey Gavin,
Can you please confirm that I will be getting extra material (black) to do the doors as well.
I just checked out the link above for the orders and it looks like me needs to be updated with extra material = yes
Thank
