Re: Fans.
Did you bleed any air out of the system? Air can cause issues, just pull the radiator cap off and run the car
If you can see air bubbles coming through then you have a leak somewhere. The only other thing I can think is that the new sensor is sending the correct values to the ECU and it's kicking the fans on. How old is the thermostat is the car?

Re: Fans.
Maybe the gauge is not reading accurately..
So when it is reading at 3/4, maybe it is actually 1/2 ... I remember Dan having that problem with his Barina..

Re: Fans.
Are the upper and lower hoses flowing properly? Check they're both pressurized when its at normal temp. You could have a blockage. I had the fans kicking in all the time before I got a new radiator and changed the CTS.

Re: Fans.
Negative, barina was fine, gauge just went up and down with fan temp and gave accurate reading. I had it tested by local mechanic. Fans kicked in at around 98-100 deg and stayed on until 92 degrees, and gauge followed those temps.rock_it wrote:Maybe the gauge is not reading accurately..

Sounds like problem smurf had. Change temp sensor on gauge side, should do it.
Edit: but could also be blocked radiator/coolant sleeves/hoses, bad water pump, bad thermostat etc. And could also be ECU temp sensor.
I fix cars.
