Re: N gear flashing
Gearbox in a car bennoz, you're thinking of the wrong kind of box and shaft.. The one that involves lots of beer and dubious decisions is the wrong one.
Meanwhile, no clue when it comes to the real issue here.
Sorry.

Re: N gear flashing
Looks to me like you have to remove the gear selector cable, the selector cable mount and then the sensor.

Euro cars suck to work on, that's why I sold my missess's V6 Vectra and bought her a Galant VR-4.

Re: N gear flashing
The Vectra is a Holden, but it is a re-badged German "Opel Vectra".bjk wrote:Isn't the Ventura a Holden??
In the UK they are also re-badged as a "Vauxhall Vectra".

Re: N gear flashing
There isn't going to be a guide for every part on the car.
The workshop manuals should give you enough info to remove most parts of the car though.

Re: N gear flashing
Ok been trying to remove the selector cable. Not sure where to start. So i remove the air filter just to find out there were 3 bolts on the gear. Remove 1 bolt where it seems the cable were connected to but still unable to remove it. Im giving up.silverx wrote:haha fair enough.. looks like there is a nut (no 5 in the manual) and i have to put the gear to N position to remove (and install)Vectose wrote:There isn't going to be a guide for every part on the car.

Re: N gear flashing
There is a C clip on each of the cables that need to come out to get the cables off and out of the way first.
I fix cars.

Single cable and single clip on autos.Daniel2019 wrote:There is a C clip on each of the cables that need to come out to get the cables off and out of the way first.
Use bull nose pliers to remove it.

Re: N gear flashing
I changed one of them today and it took 5 minutes
Undo the two bolts holding down the selector cable bracket and push it aside to get to the input shaft sensor bolt
