FTO RESURRECTION
I have finally begun to resurrect the fto from being down a longtime.
Engine bay painted black Getting worse before it gets better New shocks, shock mounts, drop links, steering ends, brake lines, wheel bearings, calipers rebuilt Engine is on the stand to receive belts, water pump, cam seals, crank seals. Pulled the sump pan and to my relief saw no bearing bits floating in oil so cleaned it up bolted that bugger up quick to minimize dust getting in.
The stock turbos are out to make room for 1 big sucker Holset.
Gearbox internals still by shop to change bearings.
School has reopened so is back to work for me. I will update as time goes on.
Take it easy.

Any idea how I can get rid of some of the rust in the block? Pulled the water pump and rust.

Re: FTO RESURRECTION
Btw had a scare taking off the timing belt tensioner. The engine was set to TDC and in removing the tensioner the intake cam gear jumped out of place when tension was released. Could there be valve damage? I rolled the crank back 3 teeth and readjusted the cams.

No you should be right as long as the engine wasnt running. Make sure you get the adjustment right when you put it back on though. Ive turned the car over by mistake before when the tensioner let go and miraculously didnt do any damage.

You guys ever came across the nissan trade? Supposedly it shares the 6a13tt's timing belt.

Take a bit of pride, sandpaper, some cleaner and prep doesn't cost much. The little bit of extra time you spend will make the job look 100 times better.

Lol think you're funny, why waste your time modding a car if you're going to do a sh*tty job. Don't understand the mindset of some people.

Re: FTO RESURRECTION
Easy sir. You are aware that an engine, gearbox and sundry attachments can be taken out at anytime to repaint a bay. When the glam time comes I'll do it, for now I'm busy trying to convince local shops to give a crap about Mitsubishi V6 engines, catching hell finding a timing belt locally.silverGPX wrote:Lol think you're funny, why waste your time modding a car if you're going to do a sh*tty job. Fear not sir the image of the FTO and this site will not be tarnished by my novice attempts.
