Post by Boris »

Hey, does anyone have a nice engine bay? Please post pictures!
Or maybe if you know of a picture can you post also? :)

Does anyone have a fan shroud, or what ever they are called? As i would be interested in some close up pictures...

Ye, ye... it's a pity that engine probably costs like atleast 5+ FTO's combined...

I was more thinking of modified, worked on engine bays, like ofcourse i don't want stock, but even if you have little things like done to your engine bay like painted mivec covers.. maybe braided hosed etc... what ever...

I just want some creative ideas to flow in this thread, about what has been done..

It's not a shot of an engine bay but a nice idea of what can be done.

Yes it is Carbon Fibre.

No I don't know anything about it, I just found the pic. Although there is someone in the UK FTO Owners Club looking into getting a batch of these made up.

For the record my engine bay is stock at the moment so I won't be posting any pics of mine. I'll just be stealing other peoples pics!

Doesn't having the filter setup like that just filter in hot air?

well the CAI hole is there so cold air would be getting in as well.

Yeah, but the filter only gets like 30% of that air, the other 70% of the surface area of the filter is still sucking in hot air. :) (back on topic )

Wow, I love that that manga style cover.... awsome... nice stuff.. 8)
Wasn't there a similar one going with the blue/white design but it was red/white like a Japanesse flag?

Anyone know what type of paints they used?

Also here is another take of of the previous design, not the one from "Speed" Magazine i think, but very close... I think...

Here's a link to a couple more.

http://www.ftooc.org/phpbb/viewtopic.ph ... ga&start=0

There was a thread about this stuff on the UK forum a while back, which covered techniques and paint etc. But I can't find it at the moment.

When I first picked up my car, the engine bay looked like this:

Yeah I know what you're thinking - "PFFFFFT...."

Then about a year later, it looked like this:

Then after a little bit more work to it, it looks like this (can anybody notice the difference? ;)

Nowadays, it looks more like this (that's more like it.... or is it?? ;)):

There are more CF parts being developed on my car at the moment (yes that includes the MIVEC cam cover) but for now these parts are available for group buy - more details will be posted shortly so stay tuned if you are genuinely interested

If you really gotta know, yes they are far more affordable than what's available out there.
