HostileSmoker wrote:Thanks again for all the info guys, just another quick question thats popped into my head - what's involved in importing an FTO into Aus? I'm just wondering whether it'd be feasible to bring mine over there?
(Not sure it'd be worth the cost or even if the mods would all be legal over there? Do you guys get away with de-cat pipes?)
Ok, don't hold me to too mcuh of this as the rules are always changing but I thought that there where laws in place to bring in imported cars that you personally own. However things are tightining up at the moment under a black wall of trying to protect our local industry. Anyway I don't know about personal imports but any other import now except for those before 88 need to be standard to come in. And on the de-cat front there are huge fines from the EPA(environmental protection agency) for having a car that should have a cat that doesn't work or is missing, anyway, thats an easy fix, just change it to a high flow cat. I've heard the huge amount of V8 cats around do nicely. :) Maybe someone can let you know of the people to get in contact with the government about the personal import stuff, I'm not sure.

Cheers blu / hostile you've asked most of the questions i was going to ask :D
Sorry to hijack your thread but can any of you members tell me what your engineering industry is like at the moment, specifically manufacturing for aerospace. I am a CNC programmer setter here in the UK producing components for the likes of Rolls Royce, Goodridge, Boeing etc.. So if any of you guys do the same i would appreciate it if you would PM me.
