The fronts may rub at full lock, mine are 225/40/18's and they run at full lock

I think the most important info you left out is the width & offset, as you can change the tyres size but not the width & offset of the wheels.

Okay...I've been to 3 different Tyre & Wheel shops here in Townsville & I've been told by all three that I could fit a certain type of mag (which will remain nameless) that measures 18x8 with lowering of 30mm without rubbing!
Have I run into a ring of bullshitters?

18x8 will fit, its depends on the offset. With 17" you can use from 35-45+ offset, but depends on the tyre's size, it might rub your guide. So there are lots of things to think about when getting a new set of wheels.

Again, you need to know the offset, so you know which size tyre suit best.

FTO is 5x114.3 so those wheels won't fit, those PCD are for Commondoor & BMW.

ok they're D'Vinci and here are the figures:

18x7.5 wheels.

5x114.3 stud pattern

Tyres either 225-40-18 or 235-40-18

just my 2 cents, but i think their gonna be too big

unless you have your guards rolled i can appreciate what your trying to do, as im trying to do the same at the moment, but from what ive researched they are too big, not by much though, depends on if you care about rubbing at full lock and so forth

haha man i dunno how another separate thread opened up.. but thanks for the help guys!

i think i'll go with 215/40-18's on the front and 235/40-18 on the back.

Ive already got 235/40-18 on the back and that doesnt give me a prob at all.. the front however.. ive noticed rubs when i do a full steering lock..

so thanks for the advice ppl! =P

will keep posted on what happens after i get the wheels!
