How much do they cost these days though?
haha...yeah...oh well...what to do...

cheap real cheap...depending on age, the oldest ones would prob be ard jun 1998...cost ard 70k...

u looking for one in singapore?

Well, i had an FTO here but don't anymore. I grad at the end of next year then go back, and since i like the car so much, and if it really does cost so little compared to say the 350Z or even S15, then yeah, i'd really consider getting one...

well it depends on what sort of performance car u want...
NA or turbo...prices vary...but basically prices has dropped drastically due to the bad market...

70K is for a 5yr old FTO, but a new S15 is 120K, new 350Z is 170K...
u work it out...

there are not many FTOs running around...mabe 30 units, so getting a good used one may be tough...

all the best...drop me a msg or email if u need help...

Cheers Sam...

It'll be a good while before i go back anywayz, plus money is always a factor after just graduating frm uni...

Think i might have seen your car around at NUS a couple of years ago... if u were ever driving around there...

Would love to get an FTO when i go back, esp at that price, but when u can't modify for sh*t in Spore, it gets a bit depressing... FTOs really need to be lowered to start off with...

Hi all!

I became an FTO owner in April and a member here yesterday I guess I would be the oldest member judging from the posts here. I turned 50 in April ( not too many problems with insurance). I have long admired the FTO's looks and after quite a lot of research bought myself a GPX for my birthday, well that was my excuse.

Love the car, a headturner as they say. I have been frustrated by a few mechanical problems along the way but I am slowly getting it up to speed.

Name: Ian
Location : Brisbane
Job: High Speed Bus Driver (airline pilot, hence F100, aircraft type not the truck)

1995 GPX, metallic maroon (being a Queenslander), Volk Racing 17" mags with blue trim, Nexen 215/40z tyres, FTO kickplates, aftermarket fibre airfilter, "sports" exhaust, Sony stereo.

Work done so far. transmission overhaul $2300. New catalytic converter $300, tappets $350, oil change and filter $150. Blue callipers.

Wishlist. Respray, leather interior, sunroof.

Dreamlist. Mitsubishi Magna Sports 3.5l V6 with Turbo, Mivec and Magna 4 wheel drive setup fitted to FTO.

Hope to spend many hours here and share info.

Once again

Hi!

F100,
Yes I agree it's good to know that there are some mature types like us that appreciate unique cars, I imported mine myself a year ago, since then my daughter and I imported a Nissan Skyline for her, all very interesting and we enjoyed doing it. My main car is a BMW 318ti of similar colour which I bought from the Brisbane BMW dealer a few years ago, (thought about Broncos Mascot on it but did not think it would go down well here!!!!! also my wife said no !!)

I started with the "Pulse" years ago on the 1900's and of cause (by default) am now with the "white rat" on the 717's. As my name may suggest I am a LAME but also hold a PPL.

My FTO is fairly stock has a factory sun roof, has a Ralli art BAM ( Big arse Muffler), I have also fitted a Pager alarm system with auto start, Cruise control, reversing sensors, I really enjoy driving it as it is a fun machine.

By the way my wife is a Queenslander and we would love to get back up there, did apply for a transfer recently but backed out as my wife got a better job offer with good prospects so we are staying here for a while longer yet.

Spanner,

I'm with Alliance, ex Flight West since 1987. Alliance about to expand. 9 LAMES on F100 course, I think it might be quite big. Give them a ring soon if you are intersested.

Unfortunately my last car was not a BM but a '91 magna wagon. As i said i bought the FTO as a 50 th crisis. But what a car! All the young hoons in their Hyundias want to give you a go. Unkind co-orker said FTO = fat turd on board and then went out and bought a monster Holden for 50 k.

Was tought a salutory lesson by a middle aged "chick" in a Holden ute though, Kicked my arse. Was not too concerned though when i discovered it was a 5.7 litre job and cost 5 times what the FTO did,.

Hnce my intest in an FTO with 3.5l turbo, mivec on board.

Good luck at "the pulse"

Thanks for the info might I will probable stay put for the short time, things here at the "pulse" are a bit up in the air as you probable know we're all just waiting the "boards" decision in a few weeks.

You are like me (middle age crisis !!!!) I love driving the FTO (mywife recons I push it hard, but that is the fun of it) We are joining the Sydney Barby and cruise on Sunday the 2nd , sounds good

I think you would probable be more after the GTO, I have been looking at them (not seriosly just yet) they come in a 3ltr turbo all wheel drive, hard to find some one to comply them at the moment.

Have you guys considered the new Mitsubishi Galant VR4 4wd turbo 4-door sedan?

Definately a sleeper car for the uninitiated but has all the creature comforts to boot.

Extremely rare in numbers though over here. Well, I've yet to come across the new model in Sydney.
