Someone was saying they got a $700 quote from Unique in another post so I rang them up.
$788 full comp
Rating 1
25 YO male - no driving offences.
Garaged
And the excess is only $500 compared to Just cars $500 + car excess of $500
On my most recent renewal with just cars, they charged me $900 - Down from $1200 the previous year.
Im gonna swap over as soon as I have time to cancel my Just cars policy.

I have my quote in writing from them... and yes it does say FTO.
The only thing out of the ordinary from teh quote that I can see is that it is underwritten by Lloyds (London). That "might" delay/cause issues in terms of claims. (I work in the insurance industry).
Premiums also differ according to the location that it is kept along with other factors.
Have you always been with Unique? What you should do is say you got a quote from elsewhere and see if they can match it.
I remember someone saying that they rang up the same place they were currently insured with for a quote and it was cheaper then what they were paying currently. They queried why they were currently paying more adn the insurance guy said something along the lines of "why would we want to save you money?".

$5500?Star_Lancer wrote:I use young and cool. I pay $2200 full comp compared to just car who wanted $5500
I'm with Just Cars and I got quoted $2466 for comprehensive, and I'm 21.
This is after I told them I had a exhaust, rims, full body kit etc.
I have to work - People on the dole depend on me.

after all my insurance delaings over the last few days and readng my JustCars policy properly (lol maybe u should do this before??) I have decided that u must check what u are covered for. e.g. if u have aftermarket bits (suspension etc) make sure u update u policy so they are included, no point paying 2k for some new coilovers, smashing your car and getting stock ones put in! same goes for the engine mods. Luckt for me I hadn't done any mods that I can't remove from the car easily...and they were not damaged.
Just Cars will let u do unlimited mods - as long as u tell them. I did even after the accident (i.e. boost controller/pod/emanage) and they were quite cool and said it makes no difference to your policy or premium and now I have told them they will cover them...! nice1
Unique Cars policy statement:
19. Vehicle Modifications
Your vehicle has been modified or altered from the manufacturer's specifications, unless you have advised us of such in writing and which we have agreed are insured by your policy
Just cars has a similar one but is way more relaxed. They simply say u can do it but u wont be covered for these unless u tell them. well thats the way i read it...in the end..ring them and ask!

oh and one more thing...
the premiums will be different depending on your mods and what u tell them...and of course your buy price.
MAKE sure u get all your expensive mods covered in your cover...i.e. make sure the total value is what the car is worth to u with the mods...otherwise in a write off...no good mods for u! or they wont give u close to what u paid all up...
