Auto Trans - Hard shifting from D / N to PARK

Post by SugarFreeGum »

This has just happened all of a sudden.

It is really hard to shift into Park, i have to push fairly hard for it to move into park. This is with my foot on the break, doors closed & hand brake up (if any of that makes a difference)

Any ideas?

Could be something as simple as the adjustment for the button has slipped. You know how you have to press the button in to be able to shift into certain gears. Well that is adjustable. To fix, you have to remove the top of the button and five the plastic bit underneath a couple of turns. Guide here shows you how....

Look at steps 9-10

Thanks, will take a look tomorrow.

D to N to R is fine, but R to P you have to push it quite hard for it to change

you don't have to hold the button in to switch between d/n/r so this is probably your problem
