Def dont drive the car,
Normally, There is something seriousl wrong when that light comes on.
You need to read the error codes through the dash. The DIY link exists in the forum.
This will give better understanding.

yeah definitely don't drive the car.. on any car engine light means serious troubles. if you drive it now you're just asking for an engine rebuild. get it towed to a mechanic asap, or maybe call NRMA out.

For gods sake please do not drive it!

Possible problems - if you have a tiptronic then it's gone into "limp" mode, something is wrong... if you have a GR then perhaps the air flow sensor cable has become dislodged (my engine light came on and the rpm was lurching up and down).

There's a DIY on checking what engine code error is coming up, but, it's probably best if you just take it to get it looked at... pronto! Better yet... have someone come to you, a knowledgable FTO owner can check the engine error code for you before you go driving it to any mechanics.

She got a GPX manual.

Anyway the best thing to do is to get a mechanic that knows FTO, instead of us guess here.
