some advice please guys~ ...

Post by kt524 »

Hi again~.. haven't been here for a long while~.. hope you guys have been good~..

so far my car deal is been awful~ everything just doesnt seem to work out at all, been to the legal aid and they done suggest me having a court case against allianz cos even if i win i'll only be able to get half of the money back since the truck driver's case with the police has dismissed BECAUSE my EX didn't go to court~.. and what make it better is that he seems to have disappeared and i dunno his address....

i have been so stressed and i dunno what to do... so here i am asking for some advice and maybe some legal adivce as well?? cos... legal aid doesn't seem to help a lot... do i need to get a lawyer??

well I wouldn't know what to say in your situation, since it looks like your x-bf screwed up any chance that you might have had.. well it was his fault from the start I spose and he just kept making it worst and worst.. sorry to say it but looks like you probably will be best off selling the car off bit by bit.
it probably doesn't mean much to you know, but all the best, I guess just try not to worry so much about it altho u probably can't help it..

I would think you need to discuss the details of your case with a lawyer - if legal aid have already given you some advice it might be worth you sitting down and really thinking what your options are - if you want to pursue further. There is only so much that can be discussed and interpreted on forums. It might be worth your while doing that first then posting up details of parts if you decide to sell them off.

yeah, i suppose i should really get a proper quote then sell off the whole car then... but i didn't wanna spend any more money and i wanted to get him to do something!!!

do you guys know roughly how i can get for selling the car parts seperately?? and how do i take the parts off bits by bits??

omg.... this whole thing is getting worst and worst...

let me know if you guys know anything about a lawyer, like which lawyer and how much and Thanks guys for your care and help, it does actually make me feel a lot better cos there are people who understand my situation and feel for me~

ouch! i feel for u! what kind of asshole is your ex??? drives your car, stacks it, and does a runner! WTF? i've had ppl stack into my old car and done runners aswell, but the damage is no way near as bad as your car...

there are DIY guides in the internet that tell u how to take stuff off... that should help you getting stuff out...

If you are going to sell your parts seperately - it will probably depend on what parts are working/can be used/intact - you probably won't know the full extent of what is available for sale until you make the decision - hence hard to put a price to it - take a look at other threads in the 'parts for sale' or 'search' function - it'll give you an idea of how much some parts are - even do a search through ebay/yahoo auctions to see prices there and whether it will be worth your time.

The lawyer thing - I suggest you just do a walk-in anywhere - just scope around. I'm thinking the longer you leave it the more it may be detrimental to your case in the future if you perhaps take legal action.
Just a thought

Good Luck!

well im guessing a lawyer will end up costing u like 3000 - this is a guesstimate but it's not goin 2 b cheap.

I'll put it this way - your car was hit at the back, none of the engine parks were damaged which is in your favor as far as selling parts is going. I'm sure u'll agree people rather buy your engine rather than your boot :P

i'll give you a VERY rough estimate on parts. i have no idea about FTO part prices but ill just assume they are slightly higher than your average car since gettin parts for FTO is hard.

for your engine, electronics, and gearbox, you could get 2 grand if they are all in good condition and undamaged. could sell your 2-3 undamaged rims for say $500ish, probably more if they are rims lot of ppl have and in good condition. seats, dash parts, interior trim, stereo parts, probably $1000 or a bit more all up. sunroof probably fetch quite a bit too.

you could be looking at around 3.5-4 grand, but yeah just an estimate, could be more/less ;)

i have called someone to come and quote the car for me this coming week, so i will probably starts selling the car parts soon.

just an update everyone, i finally hear from my irresponsible ex!!! he probably got a bit of peer pressure n decided he needs to show up, he told me all those excuses like his computer is fuXked so he didn't know i was looking for him then i just told him too cut the bullshit cos it just makes me feel like an idiot~

but found him doesn't mean things are goin back on track... i've got his address but my heart soften.... come to decide i won't slap him a letter of demand YET....

anyway i better hear more legal advice before i take any move~ wil be goin to legal aid again then will probably transfer to an lawyer, i want my car back!!!!!

I feel for you too, I would slap that fool with a law suit, get a good lawyer and take your dumass ex to court for full reparations...

THEN, import an FTO from New Zealand (since it's close), pick up a tip GPX for about $8-9k, maybe cost a couple grand to get it to you and registered (guesstimate) and with the rest of the $24k (is that what they are worth over there?) do some nice mods to it...

I really hope this works out for you, perhaps some of the fellas from this forum could pay your punk ex a visit and instigate some "bodily modifications" of the violent kind on him. I would offer if I was over there.

Good luck.

WOW~... importing an FTO from NZ??? as if i would know how to do this  is it hell lot cheaper in NZ?? one of the reason i am not slapping him a with a law suit is because even if i win it, he doesn't have the money to pay for it ...

if a few candies and beers will do i would take the offer and probably give a whole trolley of candies and dozen cartons of beers lol *hint hint*

nah at least he has popped up, hopefully he is gonna do something about it, and meanwhile i will just get some more legal advice

i think i am gonna get an appeal for the court case, that's if i find out where it was held n the case number~ fingers crossed**
