the car is a de2a GR with the 4g93 1.8 litre motor.
comp plate names it as a de3a.
Manual air con controls, etc. (contrary to advert)
Drives quite nicely, had a faint noise from the rear left bearing, i believe. Could have just been resonance.
bought 100,000 km's on it. dealer seems quite eager to get rid of it, i reckon they could be hassled down on the price quite a bit.
Exhaust a little rusty (only around your standard underbody chips that have hit the steel cat etc), new tip, might have headers on it (not sure what stockos look like on the fto).
On a side note, it was my first ever drive of an fto.
Yay! Even the povvo spec fto (hehe) handles crisper than my lancer. not sure how much i like the visibility yet though, and boy do the windows sit high. I like the fact the chairs can be wound up high for "arm on window crusing" and down low for sporty, ass on the floor work
oh yes, and they will ping you with a deposit for driving it, then try and keep it untill you agree to have the car inspected ($135). Be firm. I just politely repeated my wish to have my deposit back for 20 minutes untill they got tired of it.
actually, come to think of it, i think it was either manual steering, or the power steeering was on the way out.
But i'll stress again, the car drove wonderfully with no wierd squeaks or rattles, just a faint, vauge noise from the rear left and slightly heavier steering than i'm used to, but then again i've not driven an fto before.
no point pissing people off who may one day have another fto i'll be wanting.
Thats far from a GR my friend. A DE2A with 4 pot motor is a GS.
There is little difference between market values of the GPX & GR, but the GS is a whole nother ball game. Should be 1.5 - 3k cheaper than any 6 cylinder model. Wouldn't pull a greased stick outta a dogs arse either!

So you bought this car??? coz i don't really understand what you were trying to say.
hahah, i'd just read fto specs and realised i'd meant gs, not gr. Spot on guys.
and yes, while it handled okay, it felt lacking in the grunt department, no suprise really. It *was* wierd, however, to get in a completely different car with exactly the same engine sound/gear/clutch feel as my lancer
Hehe on first glance, it has no 'GPX' or 'Mivec' stickers on the back or down the side & i don't think anyone would want to remove them unless they were covering up the fact that it is GR - LOL
Even if it were the case that the owner didn't want the decals on it, it is a safe bet that they wouldn't leave the 'Mitsubishi' sticker on the back as well
Always double check that you're getting what you pay for, even minute details like the functionality of interior lights, wipers & accessories & make sure that whats written on their piece of paper matches up with what you're actually buying
I'm sure if you give word someone from the forums would even be willing to go suss out a car with you when you're ready to buy & make sure it actually runs the way an FTO should ..
and wats with ppl hassling gr's. mivecs can go f^&k themselves. gr all the way baby cause by the time u hit mivec u will be also hitting midust lol
