94-97 non mivec have 256mm discs
97-00 non mivec have 256mm discs and 45.2mm height
94-97 mivecs have276mm discs

So the mivec ones in 4000 series are $179 standard and $199 slotted trade price

Just found out that my front rotors are too small and havent been wearing the tops of the brake pads. f**king toowoomba and there imcompetency of getting the right parts.

Also the rotors on the back are they the same size as the front on a GPX, as the rear pads arent covering like a lot of the rotor like 3/4 of it.

Nope, but probably bigger than GR rears, someone else will confirm :)

Edit: I'd be reporting this to Dept Fair Trading / Mechanics organisations / NRMA if they're a member!
This is just pure incompetence!! Shut the f**kers down lol!

Agreed ^ Downright dangerous.... all brakes places have massive public liability insurance too... maybe you could 'leverage' off that...

Oh & btw, all FTO rear discs are the same size.

no i put the front rotors on myself but i didnt notice that it wasnt using all the pad. Do u reckon i can just move the front rotors to the rear and rears to the front?

^^ haha, so you're to blame, someone slap this boys head

Here we were starting a manhunt on some poor Toowoomba mechanic

No I don't believe you can just swap the fronts to the rear, likely different size and offset. Ben will confirm :D

lol, no you can't move them to the rear. The rears are different in a number of ways, size, offset etc. Forget about the rears.

You need to go buy a set of GPX 276mm rotors & new set of pads! Unless your comfortable grinding them flat on a belt grinder....

When changing pads you ALWAYS bleed the brakes. Its not optional.

BS

There's no technical reason why you have to bleed the brakes when you change pads, though yes it's probably not a bad idea if they haven't been done for a while, but for a street car probably more benefit from a full flush rather than just a bleed.

A mate I think you need to check again, do you know what bleeding is? Ask any mechanic and they will tell you HAVE to bleed the brakes when you change the pads. If I didn't bleed the brakes as an apprentice I would have had my ass handed to me because as soon as the customer left the workshop they would have plowed into the first thing that they came close too. I can t even imagine how spongy the brake pedal would feel if you didn't 8O

The technical reason: After you compress the piston in the caliper (to get the caliper over the new pads) you get air in the system when applying the brake pedal for the first couple of times.
but for a street car probably more benefit from a full flush rather than just a bleed.
No not all, brake fluid only needs to be replaced every 40,000 or so KM's (depending on type of brake fluid, car type, and usage). Doing a brake flush every time is just a waste of fluid.
