The boot is probably a regular fiberglass job, but with a layer of CF fabric stuck on top. Ive seen it before, just get a regular boot, kinf of glue the cloth on (real CF, just not hardened yet) and then they throw on some resin, harden it up and polish it, so it looks like real CF because it is, just has a fiberglass boot underneath (which defeats the purpose of it..) and most people cant tell the difference.
Would be extremely hard to source a pure CF boot for a car like this, as with the difficulty its not something a manufacturer would stock/make and any ones that do exist would be one off custom jobs. Shame really.

Oh and depending on what kind of classes your in you probably dont want to switch to CF.
For instance, Time attack clubman class requires the car to be road legal, so adding CF bumps you up with the big boys in open class where theyve gone all out without road legal restrictions and youll probably be eaten alive competition wise, but some classes at local tracks go by displacement/cylinders and dont care for legalities etc, so just saying heads up you might want to fully check what classes your car will be able to compete in before/after you do it (assuming you cant be bothered changing boot and bonnet everytime you compete and have the garage space for it haha)

just been reading some of the comments. just to set it straight kate's boot lid is real carbon fibre but it has been backed up with fibreglass and a fibreglass inner skin. i repaired the boot lid for him and i work in the industry. to be honest its prefect for racing as it was extremely lite and thats prolly what your looking for. if u are gonna use this type of boot lid ever the then wet and dry the boot lid and then spray a coat of 2pak clear on it and it should protect it

Question.. Some cock scratched my carbon bonnet. Just looks like it has gon through the clear coat. Is this easy to fix? And do you know of any specialists in NSW who could do it?

Or should any panel shop be able?
