hey bennoz..just a question...y would the need drop back to 14V?
isnt the alternator suppose to charge the battery?
coz my needle is always either abit over 14V or abit lower than 14V...

Thanx for the info..trying to noe my baby FTO better!!

well i'll be surprised if your needles sits above 14v cos it's normally between 13/14 at average!

when the alternator is on full charge for a flat battery your may get up the 15-16V mark for a bit...however it should go back to the 13-14V mark for normal operation.

if its not..it might mean a few things...

1. you guage/sensor is crap
2. your battery is not charging - i.e. needs some water or its dry
3. your battery is about to die ...see 2.

anyway dunno but I would start with those. Check the guage by using a multimeter accross the terminals and get a reference then look at the guage (while the car is running of course) also a good one is to get some1 to start the car and have a look at the voltage drop on ignition to get and idea how good/fuked your battery is.
