Where did you find such wisdom??

There's about 4 pages full of "did you check the cluster

I did try the suggestions of coolant temp sensor, fuse, relay, unplugging switch, cluster.. and the thermostat had already been replaced and rad had already been flushed.. it was just a while before I got around to taking it down the road.Astron_Boy wrote:Yep, and on the 3rd page is that post, 3 down.![]()
Oh look! the answer.![]()
Atleast you're getting it sorted.
I think an even wiser person posted this:

Yeah.. I wanted to get eliminate everything I could before taking it to someone for something that I could potentially fix myself (granted, that isn't much, but still). And I dont have access to a temp gun so I tried everything else that I could before paying someone else to do it. It would be stupid to pay someone to fix something if I could just do it myself.Astron_Boy wrote:Temperature gun to check the core temperature against the reading of the dash cluster...![]()
Anyway, I won't rub it in anymore.
I think Bennoz had enough fun with that factor.

No you nong. The reason for 2 fans is they switch on independently at times. Low speed would switch on when your coolant temp goes above normal operating temp and if your low speed fails to keep your operating temp normal the second fan turns on. That's why your car is going over norm operating temp but not overheating as the high speed circuit is kicking on. So the low speed should be kicking in before the high speed does. So should be on above 92 degrees.Daniel2019 wrote:payaya wrote:Just a little suggestion, IS YOUR LOW SPEED FAN WORKING? It will explain the whole 3/4 to hot then coming down to normal, as the low speed is responsible for this.
If your car is overheating even with the AC on get a new radiator!
Feel a tiny bit dumber reading this thread! You sure you read it mate?Daniel2019 wrote:Fans kicking in at 98deg and turning off at 92deg. Temp on the gauge reads up at H when fans kick in.
BUT, its not the cluster because I've tested a different working cluster on it. It's a wiring issue like I figured.
Well mate... he erm.. sold that car...payaya wrote:No you nong. The reason for 2 fans is they switch on independently at times. I disagree. 12 pages to swap a sensor? I certainly feel dumberDaniel2019 wrote:Also you say you feel dumber for reading this thread, but you were completely wrong...
Lost a couple of IQ points there did you mate?Bennoz wrote:I disagree. 12 pages to swap a sensor? I certainly feel dumberDaniel2019 wrote:Also you say you feel dumber for reading this thread, but you were completely wrong...

I still dont reckon you fixed the problemDaniel2019 wrote:12 pages of incorrect diagnosing..
Bennoz your suggestion was "iunno, flush the radiator"
Gen X teaches Gen Y.
Complains when we are as stupid as I am.
