HELP! My heater doesn't work!+Where to find Shock Absorbers?

Post by BJ »

Hey everyone how's it going? Well got a problem, My heating doesn't work..but my air-conditioning works. The outside temperature is normal. So when i adjust the levels even up to 32 degrees..still no heat..i even let the air in with the fan not blowing but still no heat!?! So what does this mean? I checked my fuse's & they are fine. How do i fix it? Is it a sensor? Is it a switch? or the relay? I dunno..If its the sensor, switch or the relay...where is it? please help! Also when i drive my fto, there's a rattling noise in the front right area when a drive but its not loud..but can feel it more when i turn the car or go over humps...so does this means my shock absorbers are gone & need to replace them or is it something else? if its my shock absorbers, where can i find a place to replace them & how much would it cost me??? One more thing...hehe...sorry everyone but i have 2 12inch subs with neons. They are connected to the boot light switch so when i open the boot, they turn on. But now my neons don't turn on. i tested if theres power going in the neons & there is. So what could be the problem? My mate Pete from autobarn in preston told me that it could be the "Starter" that's stuffed up. If that's the casem where do i find this "Starter" & how much will it cost!?! Well thats enough for now...so sorry its long to read =) but thanks reading & your help & advice. Take Care.

1) Heater not working
Has it always not worked or did it stop working suddenly?
If it hasn't been working I would suggest someone has bypassed the heater matrix- so no heating at all. If it stopped suddenly, either there's a problem with the matrix (you would have most likely noticed coolant leaking around the passenger footwell) or perhaps an mechanical fault with the actuator that diverts hot air.

2) Wheel noise.
Check your wheelnuts are done up properly but rattling could also be wheel bearings. A suspension place should be able to diagnose it quickly enough.

3) Neon lights
Most neons use an external transformer to power them. But if power is going to the lights perhaps the tube is busted? Neons are pretty fragile. You should be able to trace back from the light to find the power unit, and look for an equivalent replacement. But have you considered using LED strips? They run cooler, have a longer life and are a lot more sturdy. Jaycar (or equivalent) will set whatever you need in your situation though.
