Aerial not working

I just brought a new aerial for my car as the one that was in it when i brought it didn't work, now the new one i've put in doesn't work either :( Do the aerials still work with out the factory stereo's coz i have a button so i thought it should still work, any help would be great.

did you buy a genuine item?? Aftermarkets could work in a different way.

Also why the hell do you need an arial with the stock stereo anyway?? Do you have a convertor?

What type of aerial do you have, is it the external one or the internal one built into the rear window.

I have the internal one in the rear window and it has a booster, I found that when I replaced my CD player that the radio won't get a signal unless you got power to the booster, it might be the same as well for the external one as well.

I have both for some reason?? What above said! If you are trying to pick up a station with the standard stereo then your out of luck, Japanese frequencies are different to aussie ones, so really its not your aerial its your stereo.
